Callie L. Stewart

Callie L. Stewart, age 74, of Deerfield, Ohio, passed away at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Altercare of Alliance.
She was born December 13, 1941 in Akron, Ohio to William and Audrey (Booth) Pugh. She was a lifelong area resident, settling on her farm in Deerfield in 1971.
Callie attended Springfield High School and professionally trained and owned race horses. Horses were Callie's passion and she devoted much time caring for and enjoying her horses.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Stewart, whom she married June 13, 1959; two daughters; a sister, Ellain (David) Witt; five grandchildren, Audrea (Matthew) McIntosh, Melissa (Kyle) Mizner, Jessica (Jeffrey) Boal, James (Kelsey) Dunlap, and Amber Grubbs; several nieces and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no services or visitation.
A memorial bench will be placed in Callie's honor at the Portage County-Randolph Fairgrounds by the horse arena. Callie spent much time at the arena for a variety of horse shows and events and loved attending the fair every summer.
