Campbell Snowden

Campbell G. Snowden, age 85 of Alliance, died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday May 18, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born July 9, 1919 Winchester, Kentucky to Ellis and Flora (Ballard) Snowden and lived in Alliance most of his life.
Mr. Snowden was employed by American Steel Foundries as an Inspector and worked in the gauge room. He retired in 1975.
He was a member of Bolton United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the church choir, served on the Administrative Board, was active in the Adult Sunday school class, and was a great contributor to the life of the church.
He was a former member of the Civil Conservation Corp, and formerly served at First Ward Councilman. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 166, and former president of Local A.F.L.C.I.O. # 2211.
A W.W. II U.S. Army veteran, he served active duty in many major European campaigns.
He is survived by his wife, Lois (Slusser) Snowden, whom he married Sept. 9, 1947; two daughters, Linda D. Reiheld of Austin, Texas, and Sharon L. (Paul) Hagan of Alliance; one son, Dennis R. Snowden of Alliance; grandchildren, David (Christine) Beikirch, Jason (Ann) Hagan, Andy (Teresa) Hagan, and Tim Hagan; great-grandchildren, Drue, Jonathan, Grace, Ariah, Matt, Rachel, and Danny; three sisters, Christine VanCleve of Kentucky, Evelene (Ted) McCloud of New Jersey, and Francis (Charles) Cole of Kentucky, one brother, John (Geneva) Snowden of Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ernest and Herldon.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Dr. David W. Bloor officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
