Carl A. DeTata, age 94, of Alliance, died at 3:20 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2013, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1918, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Alpinio and Ernesti (Zarlenya) DeTata.
Carl was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from Wean Company as a machinist.
He is survived by his companion of 21 years, Aileen J. Mazzei; daughter, Joyce Ricks; son, Richard DeTata; several grandchildren and his extended family in Alliance; Diane and Tom Warner; Louie and Jimmy Mazzei; and grandchildren, Lee, Kari, Kristina, Rachel and Christopher Taylor.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Fr. Matthew Mankowski of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio.
