Carol E. Sampson

Carol E. Sampson, age 94 of Sebring, and formerly of Alliance, passed away at 3:05 a.m. Thursday August 25, 2016 at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born May 26, 1922 in Alliance, Ohio to William C. Lawrence and Emma (Emplit) Lawrence.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Mrs. Sampson retired after 26 years of service with the Alliance City Water Office. She previously worked as a secretary for B&W and Bonney Tool and Forge.
A member of Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church, Mrs. Sampson was a member of the Alliance Senior Citizens Center, loved bowling with her late husband on a senior bowling league. She was very active with the Alliance High School Band Boosters, under the direction of John Weitzel, was an active parent volunteer for youth 4H, and member of the Mount Union Women's Club.
Carol and her late husband Bill enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida, California, Hawaii, Alaska, and Nova Scotia.
Survivors include children, Charlotte K. (William) Wafler of Salem, William H. (Sandra) Sampson III of Orrville, Lawrence A. (Susan) Sampson of Alliance, and Lindsey J. (Pamela) Sampson of Cape Coral, Fla.; grandchildren, Brenda, Karen, Cheryl, Erik, Kurt, Gail, Jill, Alysa and Tanya; and great-grandchildren, Nathan, Natalie, Jaycie, Shaylie, Carissa, Jameson, Cruz, Brody, Gray, Emma, Logan, Bailey, Penelope, and Kaeden; and sister, Mathilda Ameser of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William H. Sampson, whom she married August 9, 1941 and who died November 5, 2010.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church with Pastor Jody Hill officiating.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Deerfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deerfield Evangelical Friends Church. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
