Carole A. Robinson, age 73, of Alliance, died at 9:39 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born May 24, 1937 in Shawnee, Ohio, to Robert B. and Margaret (Lantz) Hughes and has resided in the Alliance area since 1969. Carole graduated from Shawnee High School in the class of 1955. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Lindesmith Hardware for 2 years and also at Kings Department Store.
Carole was a member of the Vine Street United Methodist Church since 1998, where she was a member of the Christian Women's Club and sang in the church choir. A member of the Alliance Single's Club, she enjoyed sewing, making crafts, reading, and gardening.
Survivors include her children, Christine A. (Donald) Kier of Gaffney, South Carolina, Penny A. (Dennis) Riley of Poway, California and Mark D. Robinson of Wickliffe, Ohio; brother, Robert E. Hughes of New Lexington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, Krystin, Allen Jr. and Tyler; and two great-grandchildren, Zane and Julian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jerry Lee Robinson, whom she married August 29, 1955 and who died in 1998.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Vine St. United Methodist Church with Dr. David Bloor officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Shawnee Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vine Street United Methodist Church, music department, 1544 W. Vine St., Alliance, Ohio, 44601.
