Carolyn Sue Summers Carpenter, age 64, of Alliance, died at 7:54 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Aultman Hospital. She was born to Paul and Willa (Brown) White in Kentuck, W. Va. on September 20, 1946.
She attended Rootstown Public Schools. Carolyn was employed by various nursing homes in the Alliance area as a nurse's aide. She was a member of the Truth Baptist Church in Atwater and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Patrick J. Carpenter with whom she had been married for 12 years, one daughter Robin (Dennis) Best of Waynesburg, Ohio, one son, Steve (Michelle) Summers of Alliance, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Helen (Dick) Myers of Deerfield, Ohio; Glenis Minear and Mary Lanham both of Alliance; two brothers, Amos (Debbie) White of Lorecity, Ohio and Robert White of Alliance and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.
Services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Roy Teague officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
