Carolyn M Hoover

Carolyn M. Hoover, age 82, formerly of Glenn Dale, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 5:00 a.m., into the loving arms of her Lord.

She was born on October 19, 1937 in Washington, DC to Ivan B. and Margaret G. Munch. Born and raised in Washington, DC, Carolyn went to high school in Washington DC, later attending George Washington University.  She worked as a secretary at the Pentagon before becoming secretary for Roy R. Hoover, P.C. (owned by Roy and Carolyn), an accounting firm.

Carolyn was a member of Forcey Memorial Church in Silver Spring, MD.  She was extremely active in her church community including Sunday School Superintendent, Pioneer Girls Director, Stephen Ministry Leader, mentor for Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS).        Carolyn will always be remembered for her service to God, being a great cook and a hostess/entertainer, her generosity, and humorous nature. She had a love for antiques and the history behind them and also the study of family genealogy. She moved to Copeland Oaks in Sebring, OH in 2012.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Susan L. (Daniel) Michaels, of Alliance, Ohio, Joanne M. (Kevin) Simon, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Heidi D. (Kevin) DeGraff, Warsaw, Indiana; son in-law  Mitchell Kinsinger, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; grandchildren, Deneal (Stephen) Kushner, Kyle Michaels, Graham (Rachel) Kinsinger, Morgan Kinsinger, Stefan Kinsinger, Lauren (Christopher) Ritter, Kristen Murdock, Aaron Murdock, Justin Murdock, Trenton Murdock, Clase (Alyssea) DeGraff, Mason DeGraff, Landen DeGraff, Briel (Titus) Parker; great-grandchildren, Simone Kushner, Katerina Kushner, Avianna Parker, and Tessa Kelham.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ivan and Margaret Munch, loving husband Roy R. Hoover whom she married October 20, 1958, and who passed away in 2008; infant brother, Larry Munch; and daughter, Sandra Hoover-Kinsinger.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home in Alliance, OH. Friends may call from 10 a.m.–11 a.m., prior to the service. The service will be Live Streamed, please see the bottom of Carolyn’s obituary located at www.ctcfuneral.com. Private Graveside Service will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD.
