Carolyn (Schopfer) Maxwell

Carolyn (Schopfer) Maxwell, age 74, of Sebring, passed away at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her home, following a long illness.
She was born April 7, 1942, in Salem, Ohio, to Willis and Marjorie (Woolf) Schopfer.
Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School, where she was a cheerleader for four years. Carolyn's career began as a supervisor of housekeeping at Crandall Medical Center and continued on at McCrea Manor, where she received numerous awards for her dedication and outstanding service.
Carolyn was a dedicated Christian and through her life was a huge example to all, of what a true Christian could be, with her kindness and love for all people and animals. She practiced and belonged to the Presbyterian faith.
Carolyn, aka "Conk" an endearing nickname given to her by her Grandpa Woolf, had a great love for her family, a great sense of humor and everywhere she went, brought joy. She was very selfless and enjoyed taking care of others. Her most fun thing to do was ride in her car with "Charlie", her son's dog, exploring new adventures and fun times.
Survivors include her daughter, Jill (Maxwell) Ring; son, Mike Maxwell; grandson, James Ring; siblings, Janet (Schopfer) Weigand, Linda (Craig) Scott, Deb (Pete) Hawkins and Peggy (Adam) Silk; and many nieces and nephews.
Her loving parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and brother-in-law preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 5 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service.
