Carrie Isabelle (Seams) Kirksey, age 90, of Alliance, died at 10:10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at her home.
She was born December 7, 1920, in Whittaker, W. Va., to Dwight M. and Vivian Versia (Anderson) Seams and has resided in Alliance since 1946.
Carrie was a graduate of Kanawha County High School. She was a member of the Victory Christian Church and was employed as a housekeeper for Dr. Lukez and his family.
Survivors include her son, Curtis A. Kirksey II, of Alliance; brother, Melvin W. Seams, sister, Dorothy Warren, brother, Carl A. Seams and niece, Vienna G. Coshburn, all of New York, NY; grandson, Clinton J. Kirksey and granddaughter, Jerri L. Wood, both of Alexandria, Va.; grandson, Michael A. Lalli of Austintown, and granddaughter, Ragan I. Kirksey, of Alliance; and great-grandchildren, Tristan Lalli, Skylar Lalli and Darrick Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Allan Kirksey; sisters, Mildred Ferguson and Cleo Ford; and brother, Dwight Seams, Jr.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Mainwaring Chapel at Alliance City Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Williams officiating.
