Carrie Myers

Carrie M. Myers, age 93, of Alliance, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at McCrea Manor. She was born December 19, 1916 to Homer R. Shaffer and Margaret (Betz) Shaffer. Carrie was a 1935 graduate of Alliance High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the Alliance Salem United Methodist Church, the Ladies Circle Group of the Church and AARP. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth P. Myers, whom she married August 14, 1937 and who died September 8, 2001; two brothers; Arthur Betz and Leland Shaffer; and two sisters, Mildred Jones and Bessie Paige. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neil G. Orchard officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Salem United Methodist Church, 14113 Salem Church Road, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
