Catherine Vance Abegglen, age 83 of Lexington Kentucky, and formerly of Alliance, died Thursday August 26, 2004 at the Hospice Care Center.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Thomas Hughes and Mildred Hecker Vance.
Mrs. Abegglen attended the Lady of the Elms School in Akron, Ohio and Mount Union College for two years. She was a member of the Wilmore Free Methodist Church, former member of the Fox and Hound Garden Club and the Garfield Memorial Methodist Church Women's Club in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Alan W. Abegglen of Lexington, KY, one daughter Diane A. Martin of Lexington, KY, one son Alan W. (Dolly) Abegglen Jr. of Cleveland, three grandchildren; Alan W. Abegglen III, of Stow, Ohio, Andrew W. Abegglen of Atlanta GA., and Jennifer Martin Goodpaster, of Lexington, KY, and a very special friend, Joyce Abegglen of Cleveland, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Dr. George A. Parsons officiating. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment to follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
