Catherine "Kate" Eglie, age 71, of Homeworth, died at 10:16 a.m. June 10, 2007 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born February 4, 1936 in Homeworth to Albert and Belle (Hoskins) Yennie and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Eglie graduated from Alliance High and retired after being a long-time dispatcher for the Homeworth Fire Department. Mrs. Eglie was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. She was a Auxillary member of the George D. Worth Post 574 and enjoyed going to Mountaineer with her friends and playing cards.
She is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Don) Long of Alliance, and Brenda (Randy) Reed of Homeworth; two sons, William (Kay) Eglie Jr. of Sebring, and John (Ange) Eglie of Homeworth; grandchildren, Kevin (Dierdre) Long of Akron, Reba Reed of Homeworth, and Brooke, Bethany and Nikki Eglie of Homeworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William C. Eglie Sr. whom she married March 6, 1955 and who died March 7, 2006.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Peggy Hawkins officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Homeworth Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 2, Homeworth, Ohio 44634.
