Catherine Hanson

Catherine M. Hanson, age 85, of Alliance, died at 5:36 p.m. August 2, 2007 at home.
She was born in Alliance to George E. and Lottie Armstrong Waller and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Hanson graduated from Alliance High School in 1940 and retired in 2003 after 28 years as an office assistant at Cardinal Plumbing Company.
Mrs. Hanson was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church since 1937.
She was a member of the United Methodist Women where she served as the former treasurer, member of the Beth Ferrell Circle and she also received the United Methodist Women's Special Recognition in 2001.
Mrs. Hanson was also a member of the Alliance Woman's Club, Alliance Church Women United, Friends of Rodman Library, YWCA, Mount Union College Women's Club, Y-Wives Club, Wednesday Bridge Club, Qui Vive and Town and Country Garden Club in which she was recording secretary. She was a life member of Alliance Historical Society.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Arthur of Boca Raton, Florida and David Robert of Alliance; two granddaughters, Kristin Hanson of Los Angeles, California and Lauren Hanson of Boca Raton, Florida; two nieces; two nephews and three cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, E. Arthur Hanson, whom she married March 3, 1944 and who died May 14, 1985; five sisters and one brother.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor John L. Ferris officiating. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Union Avenue United Methodist Church, 1843 S. Union Ave., Alliance, OH 44601.
