Catherine L. (Wurgler) Taylor, age 83, of Alliance, passed away at 5:40 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2013, at Bel-Air Care Center.
She was born October 2, 1929, in Alliance, to Charles and Anna (Haines) May and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
A graduate of Sebring High School, Catherine was a secretary at Mount Union College for 20 years retiring in 1996.
Catherine was a current member of Modern Homemakers and formerly a member of Women's Division of the Alliance Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include her children, Fred Wurgler of Alliance, Susan (Ron) Olson of Mitchell, S. Dakota, Tom (Tamela) Wurgler of Louisville, Bruce Wurgler of Cuyahoga Falls, Michael (Jean) Wurgler of N. Canton, and Rod Taylor of Alliance; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Melvin) Oyster of Alliance, and Marilyn Bash of Edgewater, Fla.; and brothers-in-law, Roland Rudolph and David Legros.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marjorie Legros and Mary Ann Rudolph; and brother-in-law, Ray Bash.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.
