Catherine Marie (Hoffer) Wines Wilcox, age 57 of Marlboro, died at her home at 9 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2004 after fighting cancer for the past 18 years.
Catherine was born April 2, 1947 in Petersburg, Pennsylvania to Robert and Gladys (Rupert) Hoffer and lived most of her life in Marlboro.
Her grandson Paul Lycan was born on her birthday, and Catherine had many friends. She never knew a stranger.
Survivors include her parents Robert and Gladys Hoffer of East Canton; her in-laws Bill and Marie Yingling; her husband James Lee Wilcox of Marlboro; three sons David E. (Cheryl) Smith of Shreve, Ohio, Roger K. (Debbie) Smith of Byesville, Ohio, and William J. Wines Wilcox of Marlboro; two daughters Carla (Tim) Lycan of Louisville, and Ramona L. (John) Williams of Mogadore, Ohio; daughter-in-law Beverly Wines; grandchildren Shawna (Ray), Tiffany, Roger, Anthony, Jonathon, Nicole, Kimberly (Kasey), Tim Jr., Krystal, Alex, Paul, David, Joshua, Joseph, Jon, Kimberly, Tracey, Lynette; one great-grandson Raymond; one brother, Richard (Theresa) Hoffer of East Canton; four sisters; Louise (Larry) Denning of Waterford, Ohio, Judy (Darryl) Kirkpatrick of East Canton, Linda (Dave) Allen of Canton, Patty (Buddy) Hooper of Canton, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband William Holden Wines; step-son John Wines; and two grandsons; David Charles Smith and Gregory A. Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
