Cecil "Mac" McBeth, age 98, of Alliance, died at 10:40 a.m. July 28, 2006 at Bel-Air Care Center.
He was born Aug. 18, 1907 in Brown County, Ohio, the only child of Walter and Dora (Love) McBeth.
Mac's family moved to Higinsport, Ohio when he was very young, and in 1924, he graduated from Higinsport High School. After graduating from high school, Mac worked in Maintenance for the Remington Co. He traveled to Chicago, Boston, Cleveland, Kansas City and Youngstown for the company.
During one of his many trips to Cleveland, he met his wife, Eleanor Schultz; and after their marriage, moved to Alliance.
After years of service at Remington, Mac changed professions and went to work at Copper Weld Steel in Warren. He retired from there in 1969 at the age of 69.
Mac enjoyed watching sports on television, traveling and reading. He loved bowling and received more than 25 trophies.
Survivors include several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Eleanor, who died in 1990.
A private graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Park, where interment will follow.
