Charles A. Gottardi

December 16, 1918 — December 9, 2006

Charles A. Gottardi, age 88 of Homeworth, died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday Dec. 9, 2006 at Bel-Air Care Center.
He was born Dec. 16, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio to Alfred Evalet and Mary (Bruschey) Evalet and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Gottardi graduated from Alliance High School in 1938 and was self-employed as a Dairy Farmer. He also worked as a welder at American Steel Foundries.
A U. S. Army W.W. II Veteran, he served in the South Pacific with the 37th Infantry Division. Mr. Gottardi was a member of the American Legion Post 574.
Charles is survived by his wife, Frances (Evanosky) Gottardi, whom he married in Nov. 1947; children, Helen Gottardi of Beloit, Charles (Roxann) Gottardi of Homeworth, Donna Jean (Gordon) Dawson of Charleston, Il, and Richard Gottardi of Homeworth; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Aline Shea.
The family will receive friends from 11-12 Noon Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made to the Agricultural Scholarship Fund, West Branch Local School District, 14277 Main St., Beloit, OH 44609.
