Charles C. Eakins, age 74, of Alliance, died at 1:29 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born November 7, 1938 in Hartford, W.Va. to Edward and Georgia (Griggs) Eakins, and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Eakins was employed as a truck driver for Republic Waste and he enjoyed reading, working in his yard and taking care of his flowers.
Survivors include his children, Cindy K. (Bruce) Wells of Alliance, Ohio and Charles E. (Kim) Eakins of Minerva, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Candi Eakins; grandchildren, Rachael, Michael, Tyler, Ryan, Dylan, Dustin and Crystal; and great grandchildren, Kelsey, Shelby, Makya, Devyn and Nevaeh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Donna, whom he married Feb. 20, 1960 and who passed away in 2009; son Chad who passed away in 2010; and his many brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday April 25, 2013 at Highland Memorial Park with Pastor Joe Peters officiating.
