Charles W. McKnight, age 84, of Alliance, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Canterbury Villa.
He was born in Alliance, Ohio March 25, 1924 to Clarence and Luella (Kesler) McKnight and was a lifelong resident.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in WWII as a medic. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a very avid fisherman and loved walking and hiking. In his younger years he enjoyed ballroom dancing.
He is survived by his son, Randy (Karen) McKnight of Beloit; daughter, Deborah A. (Joe) Johnson of Alliance; six grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Eve) McKnight of Alliance, George (Vi) McKnight of Limaville and one sister, Florence Engle of Alliance and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence and two sisters, Harriett and Louella.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Haynam of Crosspointe Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
