Charles R. Sams

Charles R. Sams, age 80, of Alliance, passed away December 24, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born December 20, 1935, in Alliance, Ohio, to Harry and Emeline (Freeman) Sams.
A lifelong Alliance resident, Charles attended Alliance High School and worked for Chrysler for 31 years before retiring.
A United States Marine Corps veteran, he was a member of First Church of God, and Alliance Eagles No. 2174. Chuck enjoyed fishing, camping, old cars, going to car shows, and talking on his CB.
Survivors include his wife, Connie (Fox) Sams; son, Floyd (Richelle) Sams, daughters, Debra Prologo and Mousie (Steve) Beltrami and son, Steven Sams; grandchildren, Damion (Leanna) Prologo, Kacie Prologo, Stephanie Sams, Stevie Marie Beltrami, Corey Beltrami, Jaret Sams, and Katie Sams; great-grandchildren, Mason Prologo, Reece Prologo, Da'Markes Thurmond, and Ka'Leah Thurmond; and brother, Donald Sams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry, William, George and Bobby; and sisters, Doris and Beatrice.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
