Charles William Weiser, 77, of Massillon, Ohio, died at Mercy Medical Center, Monday, May 28, 2012 with his family by his side.
He was born August 13, 1934, the son of Ethel and William Weiser. Charles graduated from Minerva High School in 1952.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division from 1952-1955. Charles actively served his country in the Korean War and continued to participate in the Marine Reserves until 1960.
Charles attended John Carroll University and pursued a dynamic career in business and sales at General Electric Company for 15 years; and Teledyne Wah Chang for 5 years. In 1977, Charles joined Hermann C. Starck, headquartered in Goslar, Germany, where he was responsible for refractory metal sales throughout the United States for 23 years. Charles' stellar performance in sales generated millions of dollars in business. Charles retired in November 2000 and continued to participate in the Carbide Engineers Society, Pittsburgh Chapter.
During Charles' retirement his passion for innovation and business continued. He developed the
Y-Zer 1 Premier Golf Glove, the world's first patented golf glove with the Palmar Area reduced for an excellent fit on the "working side" of the glove. Charles was a lover of knowledge, history, politics, conversation and a good joke.
He had a unique gift of being able to connect with people and developed genuine relationships with others that he truly valued. Charles contributed so much, to so many, throughout his very generous and accomplished life.
Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Jane (Craig); daughters, Elizabeth Gretta of North Canton and her husband, James Pasek; Jennifer Ethel of Minerva and her husband, Lawrence Kraft; grandsons, Noah William and Owen James Pasek; granddaughter, Stella Eve Kraft; sisters, Kathryn Prosser of Kansas City, KS and Betty Jean Flick of Niles, MI. His sister, Violet; and brother, David, preceded him in death.
A funeral service honoring Charles' life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
