Charlesetta Parke, age 81, beloved mother and devoted grandmother, of Alliance, died at 10:55 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center.
Mrs. Parke was born September 21, 1922 in Carbon, Indiana to William and Mary (Karr) Stinson. Mrs. Parke graduated from Alliance High School, and was a member of Marlboro Christian Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and member of the Women's Guild.
Mrs. Parke enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader of Gladys Taber books.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (George) Ross of Columbus, and Madelyn (Darrell) Wenger of Hartville, one son Charles (Barbara) Parke of Uniontown, two sisters, Lena Kriner and Imogene Haubert; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson, three step-great-grandsons, one step-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Clarence L. Parke, whom she married April 4, 1941, and who died August 28, 2002.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Stanley A. Ott officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
