Charlotte Grace (Madsen) Mastroianni, age 94, of Alliance, passed away at 8:40 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Community Care Center with her family by her side.
She was born May 17, 1920 in Alliance, Ohio to Christian and Margery (Vesseriat) Madsen and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
Charlotte attended St. Joseph School and was a graduate of Alliance High School. A member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, she was involved in various women's groups at Regina Coeli and St. Joseph Catholic churches.
She was formerly employed by Lockheed Martin and bookkeeper for the former Buckeye Market and Sugar and Spice Bakery.
Charlotte loved doing charitable work and was an active volunteer for Regina Coeli and St Joseph Catholic churches, United Way, Mended Hearts, and was also a member of numerous organizations within the city of Alliance.
An avid golfer and swimmer, she had been a lifeguard in her youth, and also enjoyed being a seamstress.
Survivors include her children, Gerard (Laura) Mastroianni of Alliance, Mary Jo (P.D) Elber of Mentor, Mark (Carina) Mastroianni of Cherry Valley, NY and Todd (Jennifer) Mastroianni of Alliance; 10 grandchildren, Randi, Ashley, Phillip, Patrick, Christina, Rebecca, Grace, Benjamin, Daniel, and Alexandra; one great-grandson, Madsen; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Patty Sinkovitz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and her husband, Joseph A. Mastroianni, whom she married June 6, 1953 and who died April 15, 2003.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Ruggieri, Fr. Patrick Manning and Mon. James Kolp officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
