Cindy M. (Sacco) Shetler, age 57, of Alliance, passed away at 6:10 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born October 6, 1956, in Alliance, Ohio, to Arturo and Helen (Muhleman) Sacco.
A 1974 graduate of Alliance High School and graduate of Stark State College, she was employed as a personal secretary for Judge John Gwin in the Alliance City Courts.
Proud to be the 1975 Alliance Carnation Queen, she also modeled in New York City for the Ford Modeling Agency, Wilhelmina Modeling Agency and for photographer, Dick Orwig.
Cindy was an active instructor at the Alliance YMCA, teaching Zumba and aerobics, serving as a swimming instructor for the learn-to-swim program and a personal trainer. She enjoyed dancing, was a triathlete, and an avid runner.
She loved swimming, going to the beach, traveling to Ireland and Key West, playing tennis, roller blading, snow skiing, kayaking, cycling, nature and everything outdoors. She also enjoyed gardening, crafting, cooking and baking.
Cindy had an immense love for her children. She was also a lover of all animals, especially her golden retriever, Oliver and her yellow lab, Oggie.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Sacco, of Louisville; children, Billy Shetler and Bruce Shetler, both of Los Angelas, California and Jessica Shetler of Cleveland; brothers, Tommy Sacco, Bob Sacco of Alliance and Ronnie (June) Sacco of Deerfield, Florida; sisters, Rhonda (Tim) McCully of Canal Fulton and Rita Rust of Kentucky; and the love of her life, Larry G. Penny of Alliance.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Arturo Sacco; and a sister, Debbie Sacco.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2014 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
