Clara W. McGrath, age 90, of Alliance, died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Altercare of Alliance.
She was born April 24, 1915 in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin to George and Martha (Stauffenegger) Binius and lived in Alliance since 1923. A 1932 graduate of Alliance High School, Mrs. McGrath was employed by the former James Dry Cleaners as a silk presser.
She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Carnahan of Minerva, Joyce Keiser of Salem, Karen (Larry) Keenan of Weirton, West Virginia, and Diane (Mike) Cantwell of Alliance; three sons, William (Sharon) McGrath of Alliance, Lee (Charlene) McGrath of Alliance, and Darryl (Teresa) McGrath of Cheraw, South Carolina; 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Georgiana McGavern of Alliance, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leroy McGrath, whom she married Sept. 9, 1934, and who died in 1974; one daughter, Bonna Jean McGrath, two sisters, Martha Lipply and Madeline Freconna; four brothers, Edward, Carl, John and William; and three granddaughters, Elizabeth McGrath, Nicol McGrath, and Amanda McGrath.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor David Storlie officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Hartzell Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 10819 Magnolia Dr. Cleveland, Ohio 44107.
