Clara M. (Stevens) Roar, age 78, of Alliance, died at 11:52 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born September 24, 1932, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to Thomas and Emma (Knipp) Stevens.
Clara was a graduate of high school in Kentucky. She was a member of the Truevine Old Regular Baptist Church in Clinton, Ohio, and enjoyed gardening, cooking, being with her family, and working in the yard.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Baker, Stanley (Patricia) Roar and Kevin Roar, all of Alliance; five grandchildren, Logan (Elizabeth Green) Grimm, Seidina (Roger) Geiselman, Stanley (Tiffany) Roar, Gregory (Amber) Roar and Amanda (Justin) Witzberger; nine great-grandchildren, Jameson, Domonik, Cruz, Kamden, Kayden, Hannah, Brandin, Adalynn and Xavier; brothers, Gene (Janice) Stevens of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Carlos (Sally) Stevens of Atwater and Pete (Gail) Adkins of Bardstown, KY; sister, Faye (Johnny) Maddix of Olive Hill, KY; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces; great nephews; cousins and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley Roar, whom she married May 21, 1955, and who died October 6, 1993; brothers, Burl, Clyde, Earl, and Robert Stevens; two infant brothers; sisters, Nancy Barker and Irene Holbrook; and one infant son, Phillip Roar.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
