Clarence E. Wagnitz, age 87, of Phoenix, Arizona, and formerly of Alliance, died Nov. 16, 2005 in Phoenix.
He was born Oct. 20, 1918 in Highland, Michigan to Fredrick and Ida Grace Wagnitz.
Mr. Wagnitz worked as a time clerk for Transue and Williams before retiring in 1982. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran, having served in the Philippines during W.W.II.
Survivors include his children, Karl (Karen) Wagnitz of Alliance, Nicholas Wagnitz of New Philadelphia, Jerome Wagnitz of Yorktown, Virginia, Catherine Johnson of Alliance, Philip (Chetose) Wagnitz of Saga, Japan, and Edward (Lori) Wagnitz, of Scottsdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Dawn (Curt) VanEperen, Deborah (Jim) Thompson, Dale (Brenda) Johnson, Jeffery Wagnitz, Justin, Ashley, and Aaron Wagnitz, Melissa (Larry) Reinhart, Kelly Wagnitz, Celeste Wagnitz, and Gretchen and Heidi Wagnitz; great-grandchildren, Cameryn and Cole Thompson, Daegan and Taryn VanEperen, Nathan Johnson, and Samantha Reinhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie Ann (Argalas) Wagnitz, who died Nov. 6, 1996 and whom he married Jan. 6, 1945; two sisters, Bertha Ford and Christine Sparks, two brothers, Fred and Clarence's twin, Lawrence, and his son-in-law, Ronald Johnson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with Fr. Donald Feicht of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
