Claribel Ruth Polinori, age 75 of Alliance, died at 3:45 a.m. August 14, 2005 at home with her family by her side following a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born April 18, 1930 in Alliance, Ohio to Gerald Cyrus and Pauline May (Rickley) Armstrong and lived most of her life in Alliance and also resided in New York City and Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Polinori was an Alliance High School graduate and was employed as secretary for the former chief of police Donald E. Cowen, and later was employed by Russell Aufrance, former FBI agent, and for Alcohol and Drug Assistance, Inc.
She attended the Damascus Friends church, and was a member of the Ladies Elks Auxiliary #467 and a former member of the National Honor Society.
She is survived by her husband, John A. Polinori of Alliance, two daughters; Lisa Polinori of Washington, D.C., Gina Hampson of Hanoverton, Ohio, three sons; John Polinori of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Rick (Erica) Polinori of Damascus and Mike (Katie) Polinori of Alliance, four grandchildren; Lydia Filisky, Mason, Avery and Bailey Polinori, one brother, Bill (Maggie) Armstrong of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, one sister, Nellie (Daniel) Reese of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Polinori was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Albright officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
