Clifton “Greg” Barker, age 72, of Alliance, passed away at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital on February 7, 2021.
He was born on August 7, 1948 in Grahn, KY to Arvile and Mary Elizabeth (Carroll) Barker.
Greg worked as a phone technician at United Telephone and Embarq for 38 years. He was a member of the Dante Club as well as the Christopher Columbus Club. Greg enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and gardening. He served honorably in the United States Air Force.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Clara Jean (Sears) Barker, whom he married on October 14, 1989; his mother; his siblings, Grady Barker of Homeworth, Roxann (Charles) Gottardi of Homeworth, Anthony Barker of Beloit, Maggie Priscilla (Charles) Allcorn of Sebring, and Elizabeth Kathern (Robert) Kelley of Lancaster; his children, Christopher Gregory Barker of Sebring, Brian (Angela) Bates of Alliance, Leroy Bates of Alliance and Kathy Bourne of Alliance; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11th at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Moultrie Chapel Cemetery.
