Clinton K. Datz, Jr. age 76, of Newcomerstown, Ohio, formerly of Alliance, died at 8:21 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at his home.
He was born November 2, 1934 in Alliance to Clinton K. Sr. and Margaret (Walker) Datz.
Clinton was a graduate of Alliance High School and was formerly employed at the former Hercules Motors, Winters Industry and San Cap Abrasives.
He was formerly active in the American Legion Post 166 in Alliance and the United Commercial Travelers. He enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, being with his family and friends and enjoyed walking.
Clinton was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Davis of Alliance; son, Kristofer Datz of Newcomerstown; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joel (Cathy) Datz and Craig (Carol) Datz, both of Alliance; stepson, Paul Ambler of Newcomerstown; stepdaughter, Linda (Jess) Kittle of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Maxine M. (McNeal) Datz whom he married May 4, 1973 and who died March 5, 2002.
Military Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
