Clyde H. Ely, age 83, of Alliance passed away at 11:40 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2013, at his home.
He was born September 8, 1930, in Malvern, to Howard and Della (Brand) Ely.
Clyde, a 1948 graduate of Alliance High School, also attended Ohio State, Youngstown State and Hawaii Universities.
He was a small business owner of self-serve car washes from 1964 to 2001, owned a trucking business from 1956 to 1964, and owner of the Rondavue Night Club in Columbus from 1992 to 1996.
Clyde was a Veteran of the United States Navy from 1949 to 1953 having served during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, June Louise (Teeters) Ely whom he married July 12, 1955; granddaughter, Jamie Ely; brothers, Duain (Marlene) Ely of Uniontown and Arthur (Beverly) Ely of Akron; and 24 nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Lynn Clyde Ely, who died May 1, 2010; and a sister, Agnes Skaggs.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Chris Dewar, Minister, officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard, Ohio, at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013.
