Craig Steed, loving husband, father and grandfather, age 61 of Alliance, went home to the Lord after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He passed away at his home at 1:30 a.m. November 22, 2004.
Mr. Steed was born January 1, 1943 in Alliance, Ohio to Dennis and Martha Jane (Crewson) Steed.
He graduated from Sebring High School, and was employed by Morgan Engineering for 16 years in sales, and was currently employed by Winkle Industries as Vice-President.
He was a member of First Christian Church.
Craig was a member of the Sebring Masonic Lodge #626 F. &A.M., Sebring American Legion Post 76, Alliance B.P.O.E. #467, Sebring VFW Post 6730, and was a former Sebring Councilman.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He especially enjoyed fishing in Canada.
A. U.S. Army Veteran, Mr. Steed served from 1960-1964. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Mueller), whom he married August 8, 1986; one daughter Traci (Mike) Courtney of Salem, one son Trent (Jesse) Steed of Alliance, two step-daughters Tari (Kane) Henderson of Medina, and Gina (Dale) Mizer of Rootstown, eleven grandchildren, and one sister, Pam (Dale) Lashley of Sebring.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with Pastor Craig Jones and Pastor Pam Bruno officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 1141 W. Beech St. Alliance, Ohio 44601, or the National Brain Tumor Foundation, 22 Battery St. San Francisco, CA 94111-5520.
