Dale E. Conrad, age 90, of Alliance, passed away at 10:59 a.m., Friday, February 21, 2014, surrounded by his family.
He was born October 18, 1923, in Alliance, to Cregg and Florence (Benner) Conrad.
Dale was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. He was employed as a Pipe and Hydraulic Fitter at Alliance Machine.
He was an active member of the former Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Dale enjoyed working on Volkswagens, hunting fox, gardening and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for many years.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen Conrad and Bonnie (Robert) Skelding; sons, Barry (Lana) Conrad and Roger (Linda) Conrad all of Alliance; grandchildren, Dan (Julie) Leone, Heather Leone, Lindsay Conrad and Eric (C.J.) Conrad; great-granddaughter, Cecilia Leone; sisters, Mary Penny, and Evelyn Reustle, both of Alliance, and Viola Blanchard of Homeworth; brother, Olin Conrad of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Dwayne, Arnold, Mable, Lester, Gladys, Violet and Clayton.
The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the members of Alliance Hospice for their exceptional care.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday February 27, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Lee Iden officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Salem Greenlawn Cemetery.
