Dale N. Hassig, age 75, of Alliance, died at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born in New Martinsville, WV, October 30, 1932, to Albert and Clara (Buchannon) Hassig. Dale was enlisted in the US. Air Force and served for 23 years before his retirement in 1972. He was employed by the former Bargain Land in Alliance. He was a life member of the VFW Post 14000 in Kansas City, MO, Cuyahoga Falls Campers, and Bethany United Methodist Church Koinonia. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening, camping and dominoes. He is survived by his loving companion, Gayle Thompson of Marlboro; daughters, Brenda (Joseph) Moore and Karen Hassig, both of Orange, TX; six grandchildren, Chris and Andy Moore, Laura Jones, Tommy Teneyuque, Amanda and Jessica; five great grandchildren, Nolan Moore, Aubrey Moore, Naomi Jones, Isabella Moore, and Abrianna Teneyuque and three more great grandchildren on the way; brother, Harold (Joyce) Hassig of Punta Gorda, FL and sister, Dorothy Weidinger of Ashland, Ohio; special nephew, Terry Hassig, Delroy, Ohio and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Robert Hassig and sister, Mabel Larkins. Memorial Services, officiated by the Rev. Tim McCollum, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 3906 Easton St, N. Canton, Ohio 44720. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale St. Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
