Dale E. Kilchenman, age 81, of Alliance, passed away at 11:25 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Canterbury Villa.
He was born April 7, 1932, in Stone Creek, Ohio, to Ernest and Freda (Lahmers) Kilchenman and has been a resident of Alliance since 1951.
Dale graduated from Stone Creek High School and attended Canton Actual Business College. He was employed with the former Tschabold Motor Company, which later became Henschen Motor Company, and retired from Terry's Tire Town.
He was a member of the First Immanuel United Church of Christ where he served on the Consistory Board.
A UCT (United Commercial Travelers of America) counselor, Dale also was a member of the Alliance Elks BPOE No. 467 and the former Saxon Lodge where he served as past president of the Toastmaster Club.
Dale is survived by his daughters, Margaret Kilchenman of Waterbury, VT and Kathy Kilchenman of Alliance; three grandchildren, Allison, Stephanie, and Elizabeth; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Ralph Kilchenman of Dover and Earl Kilchenman of Kent.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Sarah "Sally" (Greenawalt) Kilchenman whom he married September 6, 1959 and who died July 15, 2011.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
