After a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, Dale A. Montgomery, age 75, of Alliance, joined his parents in heaven on Easter Sunday, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 6, 1937, in Alliance, Ohio, to Howard A. and Alice M. (Kirkbride) Montgomery.
Dale graduated from Marlboro High School and attended Kent State University.
A lifelong passionate farmer, Dale also drove bus for Marlington Schools, previously worked at Beverly Farm Dairy in Alliance, and was a member of the Stark County Farm Bureau.
Dale enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in their activities.
Dale will be greatly missed by his family, which includes his wife, Marilyn L. (Fox) Montgomery, whom he married Sept. 5, 1958; children, Betty (John) George, Lori Robertson, and Gary (Christy) Montgomery, all of Alliance; grandchildren, Kara and Kacy Robertson, Tyler and Adam George, Nicole and Megan Montgomery; close family friend, Diana Runciman-Moore; brother, Richard (Betty) Montgomery of Alliance, and sister, Mary Ellen (Tim) Franks, of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws, Gaylord and Emma Fox.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
Dale's family would like to thank North Canton Medical Foundation Cancer Center and the nursing staff on the 6th floor of Aultman Hospital for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg Rd. Alliance, OH 44601, or the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department, 9577 Edison St. NE, Alliance, OH 44601.
