Dan M. (Putter) Petersberger age 54 of Alliance died at home Saturday at 12:30 p.m. October 18, 2003.
Born in Alliance, on July 12, 1949 to John & Ruth (Mott) Petersberger, Dan was a life resident, graduating from Alliance High School in 1968. Following high school, he attended Akron University and was employed by Timken Roller Bearing for 20 years as a shipping clerk. He was later employed at the Firestone Country Club as a fairway mower on the grounds crew. Dan attended Christ United Methodist Church, was a member of the Dante Club, enjoyed fishing and boating and was the 1968-1969 Stark County Golden Gloves Champion.
He is survived by his father of Alliance, wife Nancy Lynn (Brown) Petersberger of Alliance whom he married November 4, 1998, sister Miriam (David) McCleese of Kissimmee, Fla., brother John D. Petersberger & fianc?e Bobbie Jo Ratliff of Alliance, sister Martha (Bob) Strickland of Lakeland Fla., brother Richard Petersberger of Alliance sister Margaret (Stephen) Ligas of St. Cloud, Fla., one step-son Scott Allan Riddle of Alliance, an aunt Charlotte Louise & Rev. Clarence Yates of Orlando Fla., and several nieces and nephews. His mother and son Todd preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 22, 2003 at Alliance First Friends Church with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
