The morning of Tuesday, December 16, 2014, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Dana Norman, age 61, of Alliance, unexpectedly went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 8:54 a.m., at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 6, 1953, in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to Dempsey and Mary Kathern (Cutright) Norman.
He was a retired truck driver and super-load escort vehicle driver. He loved driving and seeing America and also loved his fellow crew workers. He was also an avid gamer who loved to play "World of Warcraft".
He was an active member of the Vine Street United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and sang in the church choir. Dana also enjoyed attending the bi-weekly Carol Study Group meeting and the Crusaders Sunday school class and extending his service to God by serving at the monthly Swiss Steak suppers. Dana was lovingly referred to as "The Entertainment Committee" at the monthly choir dinners.
He loved spending time with his family, friends and his beloved dog, "Wilbur".
Survivors include his soul mate (the love of his life) Joan (Davis) Norman, whom he married May 2, 1975; two daughters, Nicole and her husband, Selwyn Huhn and their daughter, Gabrielle E.; Leanna and her husband, Michael Ball and their son, Henry N. of Alliance; his mother, Mary Kathern Beavers of Elkins, West Virginia; and mother-in-law, Betty Davis of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Norman; his step-father, Vernon "Buddy" Beavers and father-in-law, William H. Davis.
He was loved and will be sadly missed by many.
A "Celebration of Life' service will be held at the Vine Street United Methodist Church in Alliance on Sunday December 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. with Dr. David W. Bloor officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
