Daniel (Dee) Earl Hall Jr

Daniel (Dee) Earl Hall Jr., age 84, of Canton, passed away at 7 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2017 at The Pines Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Canton, Ohio.
He was born August 28, 1932 in Sikeston, Mo. to Daniel Earl Hall, Sr. and Mattie (Borntrager) Hall.
Daniel was a brick and block mason and owned Hall and Sons Masonary. He traveled throughout the state doing masonry work.
He was a member of the Truth Baptist Church in Atwater. He enjoyed doing mission work and helped build many church buildings in Jamica, Honduras and Haiti. Daniel also enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, reading his bible and listening to sermons on cd's. He was a caring and giving man and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by four daughters; Cynthis Jo Leech, Dena C. Porter, and Bonnie L. Hall of Alliance, and Sharon A. Vance of Canton; one son, John M. (Companion Tara) Hall of Louisville; three step-sons, Ronnie (Nancy) Pontius of New Springfield, Gary Pontius of Alliance and Tim (Penny) Pontius of Kent; three step-daughters, Shirley (Harry) Keffer of Nashville, Georgia, Gloria (Ron) Thomas of Whittier, California and Cathy (Rick) Pontius of Marlboro; 29 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Sommers of Indiana; two brothers, David (Carol) Hall of Florida; Harold (Judy) Hall of Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Lola (Barker) Hall and Loverta Pontius Hall; son, Richard E. Hall; sister, Polly Hostetler and two brothers, Howard and Donald Hall.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Jennings and Pastor Ryan Gilin officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service.
