Darl L. Mosby, age 69, of Alliance, died at 1:09 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born April 2, 1942, in Alliance, Ohio, to Ray B. Carlisle and Virginia Pauline (Mosby) Spinelli.
Darl graduated from Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, Conn. and was employed by Stark Metals, formally Kulka Steel in Alliance as a supervisor in structural steel fabrication
A former member of the Roma Club, VFW Post 1036, Dante Club and Eagles Club #2174, Darl was an avid drag racer in the category of Pro. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and being with his family and grandchildren.
Darl was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Survivors include his mother, Pauline Spinelli; step-mother, Hazel Carlisle, and his companion, Jean G. Bair of Alliance; daughter, Darla (Rob) Chaffin of Newark, Del.; two stepdaughters, Karen (David) Summers of Alliance and Linda (Kevin) Oblisk of Pittsfield, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon (James) Bussie and Cheryl VanCamp of Alliance; several nieces and nephews and his loyal companion, his dog Billy.
Preceding him in death were his father and one nephew, Richard Kirsch.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Lowe officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service.
