Darleen J. Packey

Together Again-Darleen J. Packey, age 88, passed away on March 1, 2025. She was born on August 3, 1936, in Alliance Ohio to Leon and Grace (Henry) Welsh. 

Darleen graduated from Alliance High School in 1955, and married Gerald Packey on June 17th of that same year. Besides being a wonderful homemaker for her husband and two sons, she worked for the former Ohio Bell Company early in her marriage, then part time over the years for other businesses in Alliance.

Darleen was a member of Alliance First Christian Church, where she served earlier as an Elder.

She was an avid card player and especially loved playing Euchre at the Alliance Senior Center. She and Jerry enjoyed socializing at Concorde (she was the designated coffee maker!) and they went on several Gad-About trips. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Brent (Lea) Packey and Brian (Vicki) Packey; four grandchildren, Alissa (Tony) Milini, Andrea (Adam) Fetty, Josh (Teresa) Packey and Jen (Mike) Greene; nine great- grandchildren, AJ Milini, Austin Milini, Drew Fetty, Averi Milini, Brody Milini, Dominic Packey, Alaynna Fetty, Gianna Packey, Emery Greene; and sister-in-law, Cathy Welsh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on February 5, 2025; and brother, Dave Welsh. 

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at 12:00 PM with visitation from 10am to 12pm prior to the service.
