Darrell M. Fugelberg, age 81, of Alliance, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Alliance Community Care Center.
He was born February 7, 1930, in Blanchard, North Dakota to Olaf Fugelberg and Norma (Lund) Fugelberg.
Darrell attended Northwestern University in Chicago, and worked Inside Sales in hydraulic equipment for Parker Hannifin in Chicago and later, B&H Machine in Minerva for 15 years.
Mr. Fugelberg and his wife, Nancy enjoyed attending services at First Baptist Church, Christ United Methodist Church, and Salem United Methodist Church.
A. U. S. Navy Korean Conflict veteran, he enjoyed traveling, music, gardening, cooking, and working in the yard. He also loved dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy J. (Homer) Fugelberg, whom he married Aug. 27, 1977; daughter, Gale Samms of Texas; two grandchildren, Katie Samms, and Jeremiah Samms; one great-grandson; brother-in-law, Ronald (Mary Grace) Homer, of CA; sister-in-law, Barbara (George) Pish, of PA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and step-father who raised him, Raymond Satrom.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Rhodes officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
