David E. Kester

David E. Kester, age 64, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Aultman Compassionate Care in Canton. 

He was born October 1, 1959 in Akron, Ohio to Benjamin and Mary (Lamberty) Kester and had lived in the area most of his life.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Westminster College in 1982. He spent most of his career in retail including 17 years as the manager of the Family Dollar store in the College Plaza.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf. David had a very strong faith. He enjoyed talking with people about God and praying with them.

Those left to cherish his memory are His wife, Lynette (Higgins) Kester, whom he married September 28, 1985; his two sons, Brandon (Rachel) French of Sebring and David B. Kester of Beloit; a brother, Tom E. (Linda) Kester of Tallmadge, OH; four grandchildren, Brandon, Logan, Morgan and Madison French; niece, Jennifer Kester; and nephew, Tommy Kester.

He was preceded in death by his parents 

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home in Alliance, 75 South Union Ave Alliance, Ohio 44601. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Highland Memorial Park.
