David F. Smith, age 91, of Alliance passed away on December 1, 2021.
He was born on June 22, 1930 in Chillicothe, Ohio to James C. Smith and Isabell Smith.
David graduated from Sebring High School in 1951. He was the founder and president of Smith Machine Inc. and worked for Alliance Machine until his retirement in 1981 after 30 years of service. David enjoyed bowling and was in several leagues in Melbourne, Florida. He also loved riding his motorcycle and once rode to Alaska. David was a member of Sebring Friends Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eileen, whom he married on June 18, 1955; his sons, James D. (Caroline) Smith and Bret E. (Brenda) Smith; his brother, Herbert Smith; his sisters, Evelyn Shreve, Dorothy Chapman, and Rose Marie Hughes; grandchildren Jason Smith, Jennifer (Joe) Hoy, Bree (Eric) George and Bret A. Smith; and great-grandchildren, Dominic and Travis Hoy, Ava, Lexy, Cole, Kaelyn, and Kylie George.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Sunday, December 5th at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation two hours prior. Pastor Quint Bryan and Lynn Moore will officiate.
