David L. Gobeli went to be with the Lord at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Crandall Medical Center after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Dave was born in Alliance, Ohio on March 21, 1954 to Leland Dwayne and Dorothy Dennis Gobeli. He had one sister, Judy.
Dave graduated from Sebring McKinley High School in 1972, and then furthered his education by graduating from the Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana with a degree in Automotive and Diesel Mechanics. Dave was a man with many talents including the ability to build his own motorcycle. Dave built a custom softtail motorcycle over the course of 4 years and 5 months. An avid motorcyclist, Dave loved to take long rides on his bike and feel the wind in his hair.
Dave worked for Alliance Oil Service for 14 years and took great pride in his work. Dave enjoyed talking with the people on his route and took very good care of his customers.
Dave is survived by his wife, Irene, whom he married March 16, 1996. He leaves behind a son, Shawn Stephens, daughter-in-law, Julie Stephens, two grandchildren (Madi McMichael and Draven David Stephens) whom called him "Papa" Dave, and his mother, Dorothy, of Alliance.
Following Dave's wishes, he will be cremated and services will be held at the Mount Union College Chapel on Sunday Sept. 18th at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Marty Cash-Burless officiating.
