David Allen Hancock, age 54, of Alliance, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born March 14, 1955 at Alliance City Hospital to Robert J. and Viola J. (Moorehead) Hancock and was a lifelong area resident.
David attended the First Assembly of God Church and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and playing the Ohio Lottery.
He is survived by his lifelong companion Robin Roosa of Alliance; his daughter Crystal Dorsey of Alliance; son Christofer Carroll of Canton; three sisters, Joan L. (Jim) Hyatt and Colette Richmond, both of Alliance and Coleen (Jim) Morgan of Hartville; brothers, Ralph C. (Karen) Hancock of Lisbon, Paul R. Hancock of Alliance and Gary L. (Debbie) Hancock of Canton; and the love of his life, his granddaughter, Kennadi McNemar of the home; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert James Jr. of Columbus, Georgia; and a sister, Candace Marie Hancock of Alliance.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Ping officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
