David L. Matz

David L. 'Bud' Matz, age 74, an icon of Homeworth, passed away at 10:28 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born February 6, 1942 to Marion 'Sonny' and Mabel (O'berlin) Matz.
Bud was an independent truck driver for many years and loved participating in truck pulling competitions and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Dan (Sandy) Matz, Connie (Greg) Hoover, Ron (Marie) Matz and David Lee Matz II; grandchildren, Dan Matz, Jr., Nickolas Matz, Alex and Ross Hallman, Zoie, Georgia, Joseph and Amanda Matz; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; former wife, Ali; sister, Sally Reed; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Beverly Matz; and sisters, Betty Jean Metzger and Shirley Sumser.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Eckert Memorial Field, PO Box 127, Homeworth, OH. 44634. Contributions can be left at the funeral home or at any Consumers National Bank location
