David B. Ray, age 77, of Alliance passed away on November 12, 2021 at 10:38 p.m. at home surrounded by family.
He was born on August 16, 1944 in Minerva, OH to Lawrence and Ethel (Haines) Ray.
Shortly after attending Marlington High School, David started working as a dynamiter for Alliance Stone Quary. He spent most of his working life, 35 years, for Alliance Machine, as a machinist and a forklift driver. David worked for the Marlington Local School District and then retired.
David was a member of Alliance Church of Christ.
He enjoyed golfing and fishing. David also was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. David was a very helpful and happy husband, father and grandfather, he was known to his grandchildren as grandpa fix-it.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Beverly (Baker) Ray, who he married on August 18, 1962; son, David (Sharon) Ray; grandchildren; David (Katrina) Ray, Katrina (Marcus) Stenson, Aaron (Adrianna) Ray; great-grandchildren; Jase, Emsley and Zakkai; siblings; Larry Ray, Paul (Sherry) Ray, Janet (Don) Hoopes, Sandy (Ed) Hillman, Deborah Ray, Linda MacMillian; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Leona Mauck, two brothers Andy and Floyd Ray.
Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17th at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, and at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday November 18th at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Church of Christ, 9371 McCallum Ave NE, Alliance, OH 44601.
