David Smith,

David E. Smith Sr., age 57 of Alliance, died at Alliance Community Hospital at 2:28 p.m. May 16, 2006.
David was born April 14, 1949 in Alliance, Ohio to William and Katharine (Mingus) Smith and was a lifelong resident.
He previously worked in maintenance for Grinders, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Hilbert) Smith, whom he married Feb. 3, 1968, three sons, David (Merrieanna) Smith Jr. of Alliance, Christian (Alyshia) Smith of Canton, and Jerry Smith of Alliance, one daughter, Bonnie Newill of Alliance, eleven grandchildren, brothers Calvin (Cathy) Smith of Alliance, Brian (Cindy) Smith of Alliance, sister, Karen (Steve) Gustafson of Illinois, and Mary McPherson of Alliance, brothers John Smith of Georgia, and Dan (Tina) Smith of Illinois, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Rachel Louise Smith.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
