David F. Stanonik, age 74 of Alliance, died at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born on February 18, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Marie (McKenzie) Stanonik.
David received his Master's Degree in Math and English from Kent State University, and taught in the Crestwood School System.
He was later employed by IBM and B&W Research as a computer programmer until retiring.
He enjoyed working with computers and electronics, listening to opera and classical music, and taking care of his two cats.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Jay) King of Lake Milton, OH; one son, Kelly Stanonik of CA; one step-daughter, Shelly (Ray) Sponseller of Alliance; five grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Benjamin, Miranda, and Sahra; two brothers, Henry (Teresa) Stanonik of OH, and Charles (Georgia) Stanonik of GA; three sisters, Mary Aultfeather of TX, Ruth Stanonik of TX, and Carol (Jack) Arwood of OH; and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife Judy Stanonik.
Private services will be held at a later date.
